We have a CRM 1.2 and Omnirush ver 8 installation. The CRM system has a customized 'external' database (SQL 2000), which stores data related to Accounts in CRM. We want to setup print merge documents that will merge data from within CRM and from the external tables into the same form.

I have read the document specifiying the 'Open Database Connector Stored Procedures' and can see how that would work with a straight SQl environment, but am wondering about how to implement the scenario described above. Would we use both the MSCRM DBIO and the Open DBIO and write custom sprocs?

Need some high-level direction before jumping in.
Thanks.

You would only have one DBIO to control this. You should be able to use the MSCRM DBIO, and write custom mergecodes to get your data from either database.

Here is a link to the helpfile that discusses custom merge codes:
http://www.zfirm.com/Product_Documentation/OmniRush/Custom_Merge_Code_Examples.htm
With Sprocs:
http://www.zfirm.com/Product_Documentation/OmniRush/Custom_Merge_via_Stored_Procedure_Example_1.htm

In either case, if you can get query analyzer to produce the data you want, you can create a custom merge code to pull that same data and drop it into a merged document or HTM.
