View Full Version : Program stopped working/opening

Hello Support:

This is urgent, please.

On at least 2 of our 8 PC's, Shiprush (basic I believe) version 3.0.0.281, has stopped opening and functioning. Is there a known fix for this, should I remove and re-install the program, or what? This is a reall problem for the 40 boxes I have lined up today ready for UPS pickup.

According to our records you have ShipRush UPS v3 Pro.

Could you provide more information on the issue? Any errors when you try and launch? Does the program stop at a specific window (like a connection window)?

Once more information is provided, we can proceed.

Thank you. The help window does not specify Pro, so I couldn't tell.

No, no messages. Just a blank "ghost" of a window with nothing in it. We have to ctrl-alt-del it to get it to go away.

Hard one to answer without more information. Not a known issue as you describe.

You may need to check the logfiles:
If a workstation:
Browse to c:\documents and settings\username\application data\shiprush v3
In there you will find a file shiprush3.log

You can post back with the information from that file and maybe that will help us.

Can you launch ShipRush UPS v3 Pro on the server PC (where server is the ShipRush Server PC)? If so, then we know that the database is up and running.

If you cannot launch ShipRush on the server PC:

Yes, the Server works.

Here is the file from one of the workstations that is not working....

The error that might be key:

We are running 2000 Server and 200 Pro workstations, not XP. Does it still apply to us?

If no XP, then it does not apply.

If this only applies to a few of the workstations, try the following from the workstations afftected:
browse to c:\documents and settings\username\application data\shiprush v3
Rename shiprushclient.ini to shiprushclient.old
Launch ShipRush
At the connection window during the setup wizard, use the ADO connection method:

We are trying that with no success. We keep trying many different configurations and names, but we keep getting the error message when trying to test the connection from the client to the srver.

Can you ping the ShipRush Server PC from the workstation?

You could try to uninstall on the workstation, delete the z-firm llc\shiprush v3 folder from program files and application data, reboot and reinstall. More than likely this is a connection issue between the workstation and the server.

I was mistaken yesterday when I wrote 2 of our workstations. It is officially not working on 3 of our work stations.

As this is progressing we are thinking that there is a conflict with another one of our programs. A part number database program named Nexstep Partslookup. We have been having some problems with it as well recently and the time frames are appearing to coincide now that we think about it. How is a conflict like this handled on your end?

We could try to change the port that ShipRush uses to communicate with the database.

You must change ports on the ShipRush Server as well as workstations.

Hello sysops,

This is Jeff. I un-installed and removed all instances of Partslookup from the registry of the MXS-2 workstation and now Shiprush starts up perfectly. It is after hours so there are no shippments to do right now, but everything in the program appears to be working fine. I did not need to go the next step and un-install Shiprush.

What should I do next? Have a version of Partslookup to you? If so, please tell me where to send it.
