Thread: Can't run EOD

    We are unable to run the UPS End of Day right now. It is throwing errors on the client workstations.

    When I try to run ShipRushDBManager, Repair/Index Rebuild I get:

    DBISAM Engine Error #9217 Error reading from the table or backup file 'PrintableDocument'

    I have tried purging older shipments and also get the same error. I'm stuck at this point and really need to be able to close EOD from yesterday and start shipping today.

    Sorry to hear there are issues.

    The steps are probably these steps:

    - check the shiprushserver.log file, it may help us understand why / what the EOD error is
    - The dbmanager can only be used on the shiprush db server system, when all copies of SR are closed (including stopping the service)

    If the above doesn't get you there, I suggest opening a paid support call so a tech can help out.

    I called into support who told me to follow these instructions: http://www.zfirm.com/knowledge_bases.../srxa-0251.txt

    Unfortunately, those instructions duplicate what I have already described. Any other suggestions?

    Locate the ShipRushServer.log which will be in the database\dblock folder. Please email that into support at shiprush dot com. We can review the log to see why the EOD is failing (if it's different than the error you're getting trying to run a repair).

    Possible alternate solution, looking at the error you've posted:
    On a workstation, see if there's a database folder with the PrintableDocument files available
    If so, make sure ShipRush is completely exited on all machines and stop the Z-Firm Shipping Service on the server
    Remove the PrintableDocument files from the database on the server (don't delete, move for now or have a copy, just in case)
    Take the PrintableDocument files from another machine and replace in the database on the folder

    Start the service and see if you can process EOD again.

    We're having the same issues, but it's probably because I hashed something up - I had to migrate our SR Server files from an XP box to a temporary Win7 box after the former crashed, and I may have overwritten the wrong files. Relevant srs.log contents are shown below. I installed SR9 UPS Pro on the new Win7 box, then copied over the files from the old directory, and adjusted the DBISAM values to match the new location. I've also just downloaded and installed/repaired SR9, and rebooted after each step, but it still can't run the EOD.

    The main SR engine is working, we have shipments in the db, and it knows that it hasn't done an EOD, as I keep getting prompted for it.

    You cannot copy the database from the old to the new. There are registry files that are needed for UPS Pro. That appears to be the issue here.

    Remoted into the system, reset a few values in the registry so that they were correct from the old system and tried the EOD again. Back up and working.

    Discussed using the ShipRushDBManager Save System State for a proper move of the database for UPS Pro users.
