Thread: Error #11280, disconnecting from server at night

  1. #1
I am running Shiprush for eBay on a server with 3 clients connecting to it. The client instance opens and runs fine, but if I leave SR on overnight, then try to open Order Manager or even click Exit, I see this error:

DBISAM Engin Error #11280 A connection to the database server at 'AA-SERVER' cannot be established
    SQL: SELECT Account.BOLD_ID, Account.BOLD_TYPE FROM Account left join ZFRM_OJECT on (Account.BOLD_ID = ZFRM_OBJECT.BOLD_ID) WHERE ((carrier=1)).

At this point I cannot Exit SR and have to end the process from task manager. After that I can reopen SR without a problem.

I checked this KB article http://www.zfirm.com/knowledge_bases.../srxa-0302.txt and none of the possible causes seem to fit. The Z-Firm ShipRush service is running on the server, the server is not rebooting or suspending service as far as i can tell, there does not appear to be a firewall issue since I am able to reconnect after rebooting...

TSmith had a similar problem here http://forums.zfirm.com/showthread.p...ne-Error-11280

but we don't have OmniRush, and all instances are pointing to the database via server name in the Shipping settings.

Any thoughts on why this is happening and what I can do to make it SR run smoothly (other than shutting down SR at the end of every day)?

Yes, sorry, this is a known issue, and unfortunately there is no real solve.

The answer is to exit ShipRush at the end of the day, as you mention.

    Hello Support,

I'm having the same issue with a user getting this exact same error message:

DBISAM Engin Error #11280 A connection to the database server at 'AA-SERVER' cannot be established
    SQL: SELECT Account.BOLD_ID, Account.BOLD_TYPE FROM Account left join ZFRM_OJECT on (Account.BOLD_ID = ZFRM_OBJECT.BOLD_ID) WHERE ((carrier=1)).

We have to restart the user's computer and then it works fine.

    Two Questions:
    1) Has this issue been resolved
    2) Can we move the ShipRush database onto our SQL Server?

The issue hasn't been resolved on our side, as this is purely environmental to the network. If the machine becomes unavailable, the connection will fail.

ShipRush can be installed on your SQL server, if the server is robust enough.

We only have trouble with the connection with the ShipRush client failing to connect to the ShipRush server on our network. Even when we get this error; all other network functions are working correctly. The only way to re-establish connection to the ShipRush server is to reboot the client computer.

Note: We have 2 other applications on the same computer that are connected to a SQL Server database running on a dedicated Windows 2012R2 server. We have the ShipRush database running on a Windows 7 workstation; our first installation of ShipRush.

Do you have procedures to move the ShipRush database to a dedicated SQL Server without having to install the ShipRush Client on the SQL Server? Our corporate IT does not allow us to install applications on our SQL Server box.

That will make it difficult. ShipRush has to be installed on the machine acting as the server.

Are you leaving ShipRush running on the workstation overnight? We would suggest it be closed when done using for the night. Are you using ShipRush with another application, say a custom developed application? If so, you'll want to make sure that application is closed at night.
