Thread: SQL Connection Error on Startup

  1. #1
When I start ShipRush for UPS or Stamps.com I get the following error:
[DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (Connect()).]SQL Server does not exist or access denied.

Judging by what the settings are, the database file is stored in c:\users\public\documents\Z-Firm LLC\ShipRush\Database\ . I do not understand why this cannot be accessed by the software.

What can I do to troubleshoot this issue?

What are you integrating ShipRush with (an eComm solution like eBay or Amazon, or something else)?

    Update:
I was able to find your email address in our system, and it appears you're doing a direct database connection (SQL). The error above indicates that the SQL settings in ShipRush cannot connect to the SQL database you're pulling data from, not the ShipRush database.

Are you able to get past the error, or are you stuck at that screen with the error?

We are using Microsoft RMS. I am not sure how this integration is happening. The SQL server we use for our RMS database has changed but I was unable to locate a setting which would allow me to enter the new IP address.

The program does start and I am able to use it though the icon on the system tray, but clicking on some of the menu items brings up the same error dialogue.

If you're able to get ShipRush into the system tray, please right click and go to settings | program settings | cm settings

    Getting Contact Info Tab
    DB Connection String
    Click the box to edit
    Modify the values as needed
    OK

    Writing History Tab
    DB Connection String
    Click box to edit
    Modify as needed
    OK

Restart ShipRush and the error should be resolved
