Thread: Problem with Label+Doc Tab

    I just recently updated shiprush to the latest build because I was having a whitespace error when printing fields with ampersands. This involved removing my older version and following the manual removal instructions published in the knowlege base. Now I have a problem with printing the labels using the Label+Doc Tab (2" or 1/2"). Shiprush returns an error...

    "Unable to save label: An invalid character was found in text content."
    "Line:60 <text>: UPS Next Day Air Saver Reprint the label from shipping history when problem is fixed."

    Re-printing the label from "View shipments" does the same thing. This happens any time I try to ship any service higher then "Ground" for domestic or "Standard" for international. The label prints fine if I use any other label type.

    I have been in contact with a rep at Zfirm who helped me with the whitespace issue but have not heard anything new in a few weeks. So far, besides the manual slash and burn, I have tried updating the printer drivers (Eltron/Zebra 2844) with the ones from UPS and from Seagull, but I still get the same error. I am currently using both ShipRush for UPS Pro and ShipRush for Fedex v9.6.0.52564 for ACT!, on a Windows XP Pro SP3 (32 bit) machine with all of the latest updates.

    The case that was reported to you from our Customer Service Group is still open with development to resolve. Case 20801. The current work-around is to not have the doctab option enabled for UPS.

    I will bump the case with development to see where this issue stands.

    The current workaround is to turn off the doc tab label type in Settings.

    I'm having the same issue. It needs to be resolved, not just to workaround it. We need the information that is printed on the doc label. Doesn't help us otherwise. I realize this same info prints out on the report, but now i have to make "x" number of copies of report so i can stick with my original sales order for each different job that ships out. This is a BIG waste of time - very inefficient. I need service type, name, ref info, value, cost of shipment for each package i send out. The Doc Tab did this for us in the past version of shiprush we had. Now we upgraded and it's really a downgrade because this does not work. Please find FIX, not just workaround - unacceptable.

    This issue is resolved in our beta release, available here:

    Please note, this is for UPS Pro only. If on Basic, do not update as the issue is not resolved for that version yet.
