Thread: SR on Hosted QB install

  1. #1
We're contemplating moving from a desktop QuickBooks configuration to one that is hosted in the cloud by one of the Intuit-certified hosting services.

Will we be able to run ShipRush UPS Pro on that hosted server and continue to use the product?

If not, does Zfirm have an SR version designed for this?

Is this going to be a fully hosted QuickBooks environment, say your Pro or Premier version, and you'll be accessing it via remote desktop? Or, are you talking about QuickBooks Online?

It is a fully hosted QB environment.

QB Online is too functionally-limited to be of use for us...

You will want to ask the site that is doing the hosting if you can have another application installed. ShipRush and QuickBooks need to be running in the same environment (same session).

For Postal and FedEx shipping you can use ShipRush Order Manager, which you would run on prem. Then in the cloud with your cloud QB, you just use the QB Web Connector.

Works very nicely, and gives the best printing and scale integration.

Good to know, thanks. We're a UPS shop, mostly. What I'm hearing from the hosting companies is that we can run SR on the host server - sometimes with an extra charge, sometimes not.

One more update - we're converting over to QB Enterprise this week, running local, and then moving it up to a hosted solution later this summer. Are we under the same assumptions - we need to arrange to run SR on the hosted server? And somehow configure the QBE client to let SR print locally?

Have you taken a look at ShipRush Web?

The only thing you will need to run on the hosted QB is the QB Web Connector.
