Thread: Possible to not have order automatically marked shipped on Amazon after label create?

  1. #11
Great thread. We actually print most of our labels the night before, as we have a larger volume and like to get started on the pick/pack in the morning.

It would work for us to have an option not to send tracking at all to amazon automatically, but rather have a simple button that says "Transmit Now" or something like that. No need to complicate things by having to tie into FedEx to see if something has shipped. Our pickup is at 2:00 so at 2:30 we hit the button.

Amazon is cracking down on this and for good reason. They don't want to notify a buyer that something has shipped, have the buyer track the package, and then have them contact the seller saying the tracking is incorrect. That doesn't make for happy buyers. Amazon is all about happy buyers.

This type of function is under review.

We are actively chasing this down, as the function in ShipRush is the same as the shipping solution in Amazon itself as far as posting back tracking info and marking as shipped. Once we get a "final" answer to this we will update.

    Some questions:

Adding a button "send now" forces users to remember to come back and do it. This ends up creating the other problem (that when a user forgets to press the button, or lacks their password to log in to my.shiprush.com so can't press the button, they are upset because Amazon is upset because no track #s...)

So we want to avoid an interactive process.

What if we gave you a new setting: Delay sending tracking #s for ____ hours

This way you could set it to 12 or 24 (whatever works for you), and we will wait that long to send track nos.

We would ALSO (perhaps) have a "send all not-yet-sent-track-nos now" button, so you can speed it up if needed.

This gives us an automated way to make the data move, and an interactive way to make the system dance right away.

    Warm?

Please let us know your thoughts here.

Couldn't it just be an additional option and users could pick and choose if they want it to work that way?

We are having to currently mark all of our orders shipped manually anyways and are only using ShipRush for blank forms. Having to come back at the end of the day wouldn't be an issue for us at all and would be easier than the current method.

A delayed update also seems like it would work as well.

We will have a full solution to this!

    Soon!

We have had multiple conversations w Amazon on this, and are working with several ShipRush sites to get this right.

If the proposed solution would meet your needs (or not), please let us know.

The 12/24 hour with manual send now option would be a great start.

Hello, I was wondering if there were any updates on this? We are going to start looking at other solutions if this issue can't be solved as we have been manually typing in our labels and manually updating Amazon for months now.

We have had extensive conversations with Amazon on this topic.

Please allow us to reach out to each of you by phone to discuss.

We haven't had this issue with Amazon as of yet (creating labels before shipment pickup actually occurs), but our carriers all pick up late in the day after a specific time at our warehouse.

What if we add an option to have the system prompt "update tracking info to webstore next business day?" if the shipment occurs AFTER a set time (user sets this up in settings, maybe for each carrier even)

I believe Endicia's standalone software does this and postmarks items next day if the label is created after a certain time of the day.
