Thread: UPS Tracking number not inserting into QB invoice document

  1. #1
Hi, I've setup ShipRush to write the tracking number back to the QuickBooks invoice documents, per the instructions. I've attached the ShipRush program settings info and the QB invoice form setup. After the label is printed and the tracking number is displayed, I hit Alt 7 but that does nothing. Is there something else I have to do?

    Thanks.

You do not need to do any keystrokes after you process the shipment. It appears you have it setup properly based on the screenshot.

Please refer to this kbase article on the postback and when it doesn't function properly:

I've already tried that. is the description field not a valid field to use? it's certainly long enough. Or do I put the cursor in the item field?

If you have the "Other" field to test on, please try there.

OK I changed it to the "other" field but all it printed out was the "U" in the label "UPS Tracking Number:". why won't this work in the description field?

The Description is part of a line item, which we cannot write to with this integration.

For the write back, set the option in settings | program settings | cm to an empty prefix and try again. The other field has only so many characters available to it.

Ok I cut the prefix down to "Trk:" and it now works. Since we should all be stickler for details, you should update your help docs. This sentence is mis-leading: "It is not required to use the 'Other' field. Any field can be used that is both on screen and printable, and that is long enough." That would include the description field, which you're saying won't work.

Thank you for the suggestion. We will update the helpfile page to indicate that it will only work with items in the Fields Tab (older versions of QuickBooks) or the Header Tab.
