Thread: "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" on one computer only

  1. #1
Getting this error when trying to rate quote with UPS, but no error when when quoting with USPS. It only happens on one computer. On the other computer rate quotes work fine. On the computer that has the problem, when I uncheck "Validate address" for UPS it doesn't give me the problem, so it seems to be related to address validation for UPS. Tried different browsers and also in private mode on that computer and it still gives the error.

I see the issue on your account as well. Asking development to review the error. Case 52285. We will update here when we have more information.

    Thank you,

Could you turn on address validation and see if the issue persists? We were unable to replicate here and cannot reproduce the issue on your account either.

    Thank you,

The message "Object not set to instance of Object" means that you are trying to use an object which has not been initialized. That is, you either set it to null, or you never set it to anything at all. The runtime throwing a NullReferenceException always means the same thing: you are trying to use a reference. The reference is not initialized (or it was initialized, but is no longer initialized).

We're having this issue again when clicking the magnifying glass. However, choosing each individual carrier and pressing F2 works fine.

This should now be resolved. Sorry for the hassle.
