Thread: Suggestion: Method to clear address book in ShipRush Web

    Hi friends. Just a quick suggestion to consider for ShipRush Web:

    I had an address book with ~7,500 contacts active in ShipRush. I imported a CSV hoping to update the contacts, but I made a mistake and many were duplicated. I now have 11,000 or so contacts, most of which are duplicates.

    It would be great to have either 1) the ability to completely clear the contacts table, or 2) functionality to remove entries by CSV upload. I spoke with ShipRush support and learned that there is no way to effectively start over on contacts, so right now I am deleting contacts 100 at a time through the software. It takes a really, really long time.

    Support for clearing out contacts would be of great help to enterprise users who need to be able to make mass contact changes and entry removals. Thanks!

    I did not find a case open to add as a suggestion. I've created Case 58423 for development to review further.

    That information is not available. If you are looking to prevent duplicate entries, we currently do not have dupe detection on the Address Book. It may be added in the future.

    Ah, so, I can't use a CSV upload to update contacts, only to add/insert them. Is that correct? That would explain how my 7,500 contacts became 11,000 then. Count me in for supporting duplicate detection and CSV-updating.

    Are new customers automatically added to the address book when I ship to them? I couldn't find documentation on this. Thanks again.

    To the address book, no. They are in a recent addresses list, but that rotates through.

    There is an option to add to the address book on an order\shipment. That is under the More section on the right hand side.
