Thread: Setup Wizard keeps running on launch

    I am using the desktop version of ShipRush Discount Postage. The Setup Wizard runs on almost every launch of the application. It prompts me to create a new account or use an existing account for Discount Postage. If I select my previous account, I receive a message of the account is already on the system. Creating a new account does get past the issue, but then the next time I relaunch the application the Setup Wizard starts again.

    I am doing testing using the desktop Visual API and the Setup Wizards launches from there as well. I also get occasionally get errors about postage balances when there is a balance and an access violation. I have attached images of those errors.

    I am not sure if there is something wrong with my installation but I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling and that has not helped.

    Running v12 of ShipRush?

    Are you launching ShipRush from your own app? You could try to start your app with a right click Run as Admin, and then fire up ShipRush to let it finish the setup process from your app.

    I am running ShipRush v12 of Discount Postage. I am launching the stand alone application and also opening the UI from my own app. The setup wizard is running for both instances.

    Focusing on just the stand alone application, I uninstalled and reinstalled it using Run as administrator. ShipRush Discount Postage then appears in the system tray and appears to be working. I can rate shop and print a test label. It's when I exit the application and then attempt to restart it that it goes through the setup wizard again. I am running it as administrator.

    OK...if ShipRush keeps prompting as if the wizard needs to run, it sounds like it's not able to properly update files located under c:\users\public\documents\z-firm llc. That is where config and wizard settings are stored.

    Can you try as a different user as well, and see if this issue is related purely to a rights\user issue on the PC\network?

    I have tried installing as a different user on another pc, and I also tried it as administrator on a different PC as well. All are on the same network and the setup wizard runs after each relaunch of the application. I see this file in C:\Users\Public\Documents\Z-Firm LLC\OrderManager
    that I have attached.

    Does this give any insight into what is happening?

    May want to check your firewall, as it might be our app is being blocked on our call out to our servers for your postal account.
