Thread: Shiprush validation compared to FedEx API validation

    Was going to put this in the SDK threads but was hoping for more exposure here.

    I have two customers with integrated shipping in their ERP systems, one running Shiprush and the other going to the FedEx API.

    The Shiprush customer performs zero address validation and everything manifests with FedEx.

    The site using the API has to validate every address through the API as if they don't the manifesting process through the API fails and they don't get a label.

    Does anyone know how the validation and manifesting differs with FedEx between the API and Shiprush? Are they talking to different systems at FedEx or possibly is there a validation level setting at the customer account that needs to be requested/setup via FedEx? (not seeing anything in their account portal)

    We wouldn't be able to tell you much about FedEx's own API and what they require for validation for a direct connection. Typically, in ShipRush, the validation is enabled by default, and is run at time of shipment.

    No worries, did not expect you guys to know the API. Was more curious if Shiprush used the API or spoke to a different system at FedEx?

    We use their API that's available to developers. Nothing special.

    Thanks for the reply! You don't know how useful that info is. Obviously there is an implementation difference or logic error by the other customer's system developer.
