Thread: Printing Fedex International Label and Commercial Invoice

  1. #1
I am using a custom application with the ShipRush API. I'm having trouble getting my FedEx International labels and documents to print the way that we want.

    1. I cannot determine how to get "ETD" to print on our label. I thought that was the FDXB13AFilingOption flag. Should that setting be "1" for "Filed Electronically"? That's what we have and it's not doing the job to get "ETD" on our label.
    2. I want to print the commercial invoice along with the shipping label. Is there a flag I can set that will help with that when we send our ShipRequest?
    3. We currently get THREE copies of the FedEx AWB Copy printing with each package label. If we are able to get the "ETD" setting working, will that automatically just print out one copy? Is there a flag/setting I can manipulate in our Ship Request?

    Thanks!

    1. This isn't a function that is controlled via the API as it's a setting you set on your FedEx account in ShipRush itself. It's under the Customs Forms area under the FedEx account.

    2. If ETD is enabled, we would only print a commercial invoice if the shipment is going to a country that ETD is not supported. We will not print a copy of the CI for those shipments that support ETD

    3. Unsure as that is completely controlled by FedEx and the # of total labels is generated by their servers. There wouldn't be a control to manipulate as it isn't our function to control.

I got a new Sandbox account set up so I would be able to manipulate the Custom Forms settings.

    1. I still do not see "ETD" on my printed label even after I have selected "Go paperless and upload these documents (aka Electronic Trade Documents). What else might I be missing?

    2. I don't see any shipments in my sandbox account, even though I was able to create 2 successful shipping requests through FedEx. Shouldn't these show up somewhere in my Sandbox account as Ready to Ship?

I don't see any shipment xactions on your account (when I check our logging)

What are the first 4 characters of the ShippingToken you're using in our sandbox environment?

    Thank you,

OK...I've turned off "test labels" on your ShippingToken

Try again, and see if we are able to locate the shipment on your account in sandbox. I would also suggest doing the same shipment interactively in the UI, and do you get ETD on the label that way

    Thank you,

Shipments are still not showing up in my shiprush sandbox account. However, we just realized that our test shipments we are sending through our custom Sandbox application are being sent to our PROD Shiprush account.
But we ARE specifying our API endpoint and token as sandbox.

(I created 3 shipments interactively from within the UI -- so those are the only ones there.)

Something isn't configured properly if they are being sent to your production account. And you see them in your production environment as well?

I see where our configurations were modified from our application. Can you verify for me that these endpoints look correct? I see we were having an issue with the response we were getting from the sandbox endpoint.. but not with the prod endpoint. (Maybe that was why the setting was changed on our end -- I'm not sure when that happened)
