Thread: USPS insurance

Hybrid View

  1. Default USPS insurance

I am using the USPS portion only. I have found that putting any amount in the "default value" doesn't affect the final shipping cost. Is there another way to add insurance? Am I missing something?

In ShipRush USPS there isn't an option to set a Declared Value for domestic shipping. You will only see that option if shipping INTL, which will be in the next release of ShipRush (v5.7) due out soon.

is the insurance cost reflected in the postage printed on the label?

we get charged at the end of each month by Shiprush and/or Endicia for insurance on packages shipped the previous month as per the declared value. Since we only charge our customers the postage printed amount, is this covering the insurance portion as well?

my guess would be not since shipping flat rate boxes is a set $8.95 and no insurance is included.

You would be correct. Insurance is separate from the postage on the label. We do not have a way of showing that on the screen, as that is not returned to us from Endicia.
